Pride Custom Designs for ACNH

Bi Pride Flag dress for ACNH

These designs are great for celebrating Pride Month in game, since this quarantine has put a damper on the real-life festivities. I made a bi pride dress and a rainbow tank-top. I’ll also share the code for my Bi Pride flag, which I use as my island’s flag.

This dress based on the bi pride flag was one of the first custom designs I created for ACNH. I often see Cherry wearing it. <3

I made this rainbow tank top to give my animals more choices in how they represent themselves.

I’m apparently not creative, so I just used the Bi Pride flag as my island’s flag. A lot of random strangers who visit from Nookazon seem to like it though!

Brenda Howard: Bisexual Activist and The Mother of Pride

Brenda Howard: The Mother of Pride

In celebration of Pride Month, here is an article I wrote about Brenda Howard, who is widely regarded as the “Mother of Pride,” who was bisexual. Though many bi people feel like they don’t belong at Pride celebrations, Pride as we know it today was the idea of a bi activist named Brenda Howard.

Brenda Howard: Bisexual Activist and The Mother of Pride

Of course Pride is for bi people! Though many LGBT+ people may not realize it, Pride was first invented by a bi woman named Brenda Howard.

Though bi people often feel invisible or marginalized at Pride month celebrations, and within the LGBT+ community overall, the LGBT+ community owes its bi members credit for the existence of Pride celebrations as we know them today. Without one bi woman in particular, we wouldn’t have Pride Month or Pride parades. Brenda Howard, a bi, polyamorous LGBT+ activist is known as the “Mother of Pride,” and for good reason.

6 YA Fantasy Novels With Bisexual Protagonists

Representation in literature is important, especially for young readers who don’t often see characters like themselves represented in the media. It is important for young readers to see characters like themselves in the books they read to feel like they aren’t alone. Seeing positive representations of characters like oneself can greatly increase the self-esteem of young readers, so it Is very important for authors to include diversity amongst the main characters in their works. Reading about relatable characters also helps to foster a life-long love of reading in teens and young adults.

Even with LGBT+ representation improving in the media, including in literature, it is still rare to see novels featuring well-written, multidimensional bisexual protagonists. Fantasy has long been a favorite genre of people who identify as bisexual. There is just something about creatures and beings that we’re told don’t exist in the real world that bisexual individuals can relate to. These six Young Adult fantasy novels feature main characters who identify as bisexual, or who are demonstratably bi in their stories. People of all ages and identities will enjoy these fantasy novels featuring bisexual characters.

Celebrate Bi Visibility Day on September 23rd

Bi Visibility Day is September 23rd

I don’t talk about sexuality much on this blog, but I feel like Bi Visibility Day is important in helping to overcome the stigma faced by bisexual people even as the LGBT+ community becomes more accepted in society overall. Bi Visibility Day is observed every September all over the world and is an important day to bring awareness to the unique challenges that bisexual people face. We can overcome the stigma that bi people face by using this day to increase visibility for the bi community.

Celebrate Bi Visibility Day on September 23rd

Bi Visibility Day, also known as International Celebrate Bisexuality Day, is a holiday meant to increase awareness of the unique struggles that, we, as bi individuals, face within the LGBT+ community. This holiday was designed to help bi people around the world fight the feelings of social isolation we often face in a world that expects us to be either straight or gay. Bi Visibility Day was first introduced in 1999 and is celebrated every year on September 23rd all around the world. It is a day to speak out against biphobia and to help bisexual people to find our place within the global bi community.

The 10 Best Yuri Anime Series

Yuri is a term for Japanese anime and manga featuring lesbian relationships as a main plot point. Yuri focuses may focus primarily on the sexual orientation or the romantic orientation aspects of the relationship, or sometimes both. Yuri is also sometimes called shōjo-ai, or “girls love,” by the Western fandom

Yuri as a genre has its roots in the Japanese lesbian fiction of the early twentieth century. However, it wasn’t until the 1970s that lesbian-themed works began to appear in manga. More Yuri-themed content began appearing in both manga and in anime in the 1990s. Yuri anime and manga continues to be popular with both male and female fans.

The Crow’s Cry: A Short Story

A crow flying

The Crow’s Cry is short story of betrayal. The entire village turns on their back on their healer Abigail and her lover Sarah upon accusations of witchcraft by a stranger who recently arrived in their village.

The Crow’s Cry

As the flames crept up her dress and engulfed her bound body, Abigail gazed out into the crowd. So many familiar faces who had once relied on her and her craft now looked upon her with derision and fear. The bishop stood in front of the raised platform, chanting in an ancient language she could not comprehend. Abigail gasped as smoked filled her lungs. She was determined not to let the mob see her wince in pain as the fire rose higher, scorching her skin.

A crow circled above the mob, drawing Abigail’s attention to one face in particular amongst the sea of betrayers. Abigail’s dear friend Mary was there with the others. The words “burn witch!” stained Mary’s lips in an echo of the mob that surrounded the fire. A crow called out as Abigail closed her eyes and let the flames overtake her body. Only weeks ago, this village had regarded her as they would a saint.
