Tomodachi Life: Mr. Hankey QR Code

MrHankeyTomodachiLife

Howdy Ho! I made Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo from South Park for Tomodachi Life to help you get into the Christmas Spirit! If you eat fiber on Christmas Eve, he might come to your town… errr… island.

He’s wearing a festive Santa Claus hat from the Santa Suit outfit to help you get into the holiday spirit! He’s also wearing a brown bath robe because… well…

Mr. Hankey Tomodachi Life QR Code

Check back for more festive Tomodachi Life miis between now and Christmas. I also have Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and a delightfully disturbing Krampus living on my island.

“Mrs.” Garrison from South Park also lives on my island (and is currently dating my brother’s Mii. LMAO!). If anyone is interested, I might share her later so she can live on your island too!

Super Smash Bros and Tomodachi Life: Iron Man QR Code

Iron Man Smash Bros

I originally made this Iron Man Mii to use as a Smash Bros Mii Fighter, but I decided to import him into Tomodachi Life as well. The QR code should work in both Tomodachi Life and Mii Maker, so you can use him in Super Smash Bros and any other game that lets you import miis.

I made him look distinguished in my game. I thought this type of outfit and interior suited him well. I used the dark red hair dye to make his helmet armor a little bit brighter than the default red hair that is available in Mii Maker.

I think he looks really cool in Smash Bros. Set him as a gunner and use the High-Tech Armor to make him look like this:

Iron Man Smash Bros

Unfortunately, you can’t make his “hair” any brighter outside of Tomodachi Life, but I still like how he turned out with the dark red helmet.

Any of the characters that I share for Tomodachi Life should work in Mii Maker as well, but some of them don’t look as cool without the extra items (clothes, hats, hair dye) that can be added in the game.

Pokemon ORAS: My Secret Base

Nii's Secret Base Team - Amaura, Sylveon, Jigglypuff

If you have Pokemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, come check out my super secret base!

Ruby and Sapphire were the only Pokemon generation I missed out on, so I was pretty excited to get the remake. I still think the starters for this generation are kinda lame compared to every other generation, though. I picked Treecko since his final evolution looked the coolest to me, but I ended up breeding an extra Mudkip and Torchic in Pokemon X to transfer over anyway. One of these days I’ll breed extras of the starters from the rest of the Pokemon generations to send to my Omega Ruby game.

Anyway, I’m still not entirely sure what the point of the secret bases are, other than for fun, but I like collecting the items for my base and decorating it. It almost makes up for not being able to customize your character like you could in X and Y.
Nii's Secret Base ORAS

My super secret base is located on route 120, right here:

Once inside, my base looks like this:

I have almost as many Pokemon plushies in my super secret base as I do in my real-life living room! Don’t forget to take my flag before you leave.

Tomodachi Life: Pokemon QR Codes

Tomodachi Life Pokemon

To celebrate the recent release of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, I’d like to share some of my Pokemon-inspired characters for Tomodachi life. Here are QR codes for Misty, and three Pokemon; Jynx, Makuhita, and Pancham.

They are all set as adults and all female. The male:female ratio in my game skews toward male, so I wanted to try to balance it out more. I needed more females so more of my miis have a chance to get married, and more really strange looking characters to have a better chance of getting strange looking baby miis to send out on Streetpass, which is why I decided to make Pokemon to begin with.

Makuhita may or may not have the “real name” Taylor Swift. I also may or may not sent out Hariyamas and Makuhitas on wonder trade named Taylor Swift on occassion.

I don’t know why I name those Pokemon Taylor Swift. I have nothing against her. It just seemed like a funny idea one time when I was playing Pokemon X late at night.

Anyway, enjoy these Pokemon Miis for Tomodachi Life.

Miiverse Monster Mansion – Pokemon Art Academy Drawing Contest

Sylveon and Pumpkaboo

My drawing of Sylveon with Pumpkaboo was chosen as one of the winners for the Pokemon Art Academy drawing contest in the Miiverse Monster Mansion community on Miiverse!

I’m really enjoying Pokemon Art Academy. I don’t feel like I’m that great of an artist, but the lessons are helpful, and I think I’m getting better at drawing from it. The Miiverse community is welcoming to artists of all skill-levels and ages.

Tomodachi Life: Ness QR Code

Ness

Today I’ll share a third islander I made for Tomodachi Life: Ness from Earthbound / Super Smash Bros (admit it, you first met Ness in Super Smash Bros…). I set his last name to “Tendo” because why the heck not? If he does have a real official last name, I’ve never heard it, and his first name is already a reference to NES anyway.

Like my other two characters I’ve shared here, Ness is set as a child (since he IS a child), but if you really want to make him do adult things, you can always use age-o-matic.

Look how cute he is with his rosy cheeks!

I have a few more characters to share, so check back later!

Tomodachi Life: Little Mermaid QR Code

Ariel in Tomodachi Life

As my islanders keep pointing out, I haven’t visited Adventure Island in over a month! At least Tomodachi Life doesn’t punish you for not playing the way Animal Crossing does. The worst thing that happens is they ask if you’ve been on vacation. That sure beats losing your favorite villagers or having to pull out dozens of weeds! Anyway, I promised to post more QR codes for Mii characters for Tomodachi Life, so here’s Ariel from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

Little Mermaid in Tomodachi Life

I saw the mermaid outfit in my clothing shop, so I couldn’t resist making Ariel. I even found the perfect underwater interior for her apartment! I dyed her hair bright red to get the proper color. and I’m not sure if her hair will still be dyed when you scan the code, but it shouldn’t be that difficult to get her hair back to the bright red color, since the islanders give out hair dye like candy.

What other characters would you like to see for Tomodachi Life?

Tomodachi Life: Sailor Venus QR Code

Minako Sailor Venus

Get hyped for Sailor Moon Crystal with my Sailor Venus mii for Tomodachi Life!

Judging by the fact that I only got 5 Tomodachi Life StreetPasses at Colossalcon this past Saturday, I don’t think this game is going to be as popular as Animal Crossing, but I’m enjoying it nonetheless.

So far my island, Adventure Island, is home to myself, my boyfriend, one of my friends, Reggie Fils-Aime (FILSAMECH), Princess Zelda, the Pringles guy, Sailor Venus, a T-Rex, Dr. Sheldon Cooper, Shaquille O’Neal, and Samus.

I got most of my characters from either Streetpass Plaza or QR codes I scanned in. I would like to share the characters I made myself, however. First up is Sailar Venus from Sailor Moon!

Sailor Venus Tomodachi Life QR Code

I wanted to include my favorite Sailor Scout as a resident of my island. I couldn’t find a Sailor Venus mii I liked online, so I made her myself. I even found the perfect hair bow for her to wear! She’s dressed in a cute orange romper until I find a more appropriate outfit for a Sailor Scout! (She’s a kid, so don’t get any ideas about asking her out!)

Check back later for Samus Aran!

How Mario Kart 8 Could Be Even Better

Mario Kart 8 is easily my favorite game on the Wii U so far (it’s still to soon to say how it stacks up against the rest of the Mario Kart series. I’m still in love with Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart 7). The graphics are amazing and the new anti-gravity features are pretty awesome. That being said, the game does seem to have some disappointing missed potential. In this modern age of gaming, the few issues players may have with Mario Kart 8 could easily be fixed if Nintendo decides to add new content via DLC.

Characters

Pink Gold Princess Peach with Baby RosalinaThe 30 character roster sounds impressive. However, the fact that a huge percentage of it is devoted to baby versions of existing characters and Koopalings leaves a bit to be desired. While the Koopalings do have their own charm, they can never take the place of characters like Queen Bee or Wiggler. The babies are fun to play as sometimes, but there are other characters I’d much rather have. With so many Koopalings and baby characters, it doesn’t feel like there is much variety to choose from, even if the roster does technically contain 30 characters. But there is still hope for Nintendo to release extra characters via DLC. *fingers crossed*

Karts

Mario Kart 8 Mercedes-Benz GLAI don’t really have any complaints about the karts, but I’d definitely be happy if Nintendo decided to release some DLC kart parts. (Since Nintendo is already partnering with Mercedes-Benz to release a Mercedes-Benz GLA for Mario Kart 8 in Japan, how about also including a Smart car, perhaps with different colors depending on the character selected? The idea of real-world cars in Mario Kart is so absurd, it’s actually kind of cool!)

Tracks

Rosalina on Rainbow Road (N64) in Mario Kart 8The tracks are pretty fun and interesting. The anti-gravity adds a whole extra layer to the tracks, both new and old. I’m just not a fan of how they updated Toad’s Turnpike and the N64 version of Rainbow Road. On Toad’s Turnpike, it’s too easy to avoid traffic by simply driving on the sides of the road via anti-gravity (though the added ability to drive up ramps on certain cars is nifty). I didn’t like the checkerboard mosaic pattern they used on the N64 Rainbow Road. I much prefer the striped pattern of the original version (I know I’m just being nitpicky!). It also bothered me that it’s now one lap with checkpoints, rather than three long laps. The length of Rainbow Road on Mario Kart 64 was part of what made that track so awesome!

Items

Crazy 8 Mario Kart 8 Wii UThe new items are pretty fun. It does take some practice to get the hang of the boomerang, however. The coin item is pretty useless, since the tracks already give coins out like candy. The only real item-related complaint I have is that you can’t “stockpile” items in this latest iteration of the series. Now I’m forced to either use up all of my previous item pickup as I approach the next batch of item boxes, or forgo picking up something new. Gone are the days of hiding behind three red or green shells while still having another item in reserve.

Battle Mode

Mario Kart Battle Mode - Mario and ToadMario Kart 8’s battle mode is extremely disappointing. It’s difficult to find other racers on the slightly modified race tracks and it feels like a tacked-on after-thought. This problem could be easily remedied with DLC arenas (hopefully free, since they really should have been included in the game in the first place). I’m hoping for both brand new battle arenas for Mario Kart 8, as well as classic tracks (Block Fort, perhaps? Pretty please?!).

Conclusion

Overall, Mario Kart 8 is THE must have game for Wii U. Most of the issues could be easily remedied through future DLC releases. Maybe Nintendo will hear our voices and make this already amazing game even better through DLC!

Have you tried Mario Kart 8 yet? What do you think so far? Are you hoping for any DLC? Let me know in the comments!

Animal Crossing: New Leaf Mrs. Claus Outfit

Animal Crossing: New Leaf Mrs. Claus

I made this festive Mrs. Claus costume for Animal Crossing: New Leaf especially for the holidays. This outfit is similar to my Santa Claus outfit, except in dress form. If you’re a guy, you might be more interested in my Santa Claus outfit: Animal Crossing: New Leaf Santa Claus Outfit. (The Santa Claus outfit was made by simply changing my Mrs. Claus pro-design into a shirt design and making a few minor alterations).

Here’s my character dressed as Mrs. Claus.
